Adriana Lima Finally Says Goodbye to Victoria’s Secret After Two Decades
A very emotional Adriana Lima bowed her head for her audience in gratitude and followed to cross her hands over her heart as she did her 18th and final runway walk in New York’s yearly holiday Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
After the 18 fashion shows and two decades of working with Victoria’s Secret, Adriana Lima is now saying goodbye. The information was shared on her Instagram handle after the first recording of the Victoria’s Secret annual fashion show. The name of the VS Angel and Brazilian model had become identical with the lingerie label. These seems to be the last time that the 37 year old will be on the VS catwalk since she is on the model line-up.
The show paid a special tribute to the fashion icon that included a feature video montage of clips from her past Victoria’s Secret iconic moments. The montage ended with a “thank you” message to Adriana before the catwalk darkened and the model herself came out to make her final walk.

The model face braced the stage in 1999. She posted a number of videos of her past VS show appearances. She posted a heartfelt message on the caption thanking the Victoria’s Secret brand for giving her the platform to prosper. She also appreciated the love from her fans.
The People reports indicate that Lima is expected to grace this year’s show with a dramatic winged look. The Fashionista on the other hand says that there is whole segment of the runway left aside for the model. The model will surely go out on a high note.

Lima while talking to People about her departure from the industry said that this year was going to be the highlight of her successful career. She mentioned that she is super excited about her 18th show just like she was excited the first day she walked on the stage. She clearly showed her passion and love of being on the runway and also being part of the Victoria’s Secret show.

The exit of Lima comes just after another iconic Victoria’s Secret model by the name of Alessandra Ambrosio retired from the runway. This happened last year after the fashion show that was hosted in Shanghai. After the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Lima mentioned that she wanted to hit the 20-show mark before considering exiting the show. She told People back then that she is still working out and just waits to see if the body will allow her to rich her desired target.

The rumours about her exit started circulating recently after another model walking in this year’s VS fashion show by the name Georgia Fowler let the information slip. She told the Grazia that she thinks this was going to be Lima’s last year. This has been confirmed Lima’s post about this year being the last year for her on the runway.
